Virtual Riders

A longtime member of our Ride Family, Greg Gehab continues his support by riding in North Carolina.

Team Axiom took the Ride to Switzerland!

VIRTUAL RIDERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD JOIN OUR RIDE FAMILY TO HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR A CURE!

Our Virtual Rider option began a few years ago when some of our cyclists moved out of the area or were no longer able to make the trek from their home state to Old Orchard Beach. They wanted to remain an integral part of the Ride Family and continue to raise funds toward the cure.  Riding “virtually” allows them to register for a small fee ($10), set up a fundraising page just like those riding in person, and even earn their annual Ride t-shirt when they raise $150.

Over the years the option to participate “Virtually” has evolved to include cyclists from around the globe, including those away for work/vacation like Team Axiom in Switzerland, college students studying abroad like Maggie Kycia in New Zealand, and longtime cyclists like Greg Gehab bringing the Ride to their new hometowns.  We have spin teams competing at gyms and friends who just go out for a leisurely ride. And we have had runners, walkers, pretty much anyone doing anything to help support the cause!

It is also a perfect opportunity for Volunteers, who come up and help out every year rather than ride. This is a perfect option for them to do both!  They support the Ride by helping out at rest stops, grilling and distributing food after the ride, handling parking and traffic, or a host of other activities that are critical to the success of the Ride, and still have the opportunity to share their experience while raising funds toward a cure.

If you would like to Ride Virtually, simply click here to register. Then set up your fundraising page, and do the best you can, no pressure, no minimum fundraising. Just know that 100% of the funds you raise will go directly to research toward a cure!

And remember, if you raise $150 by September 12th, you will receive the official New England Parkinson’s Ride t-shirt, shortly after the Ride. As an added incentive, those who raise a minimum of $150 by August 15th will have their t-shirts mailed in time to wear them in solidarity on Ride Day! Just make sure to share your pictures on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and tag us @neparkinsonsride  #LiveRideCure or #2020NEPR.
