Volunteer

Volunteering at the New England Parkinson’s Ride is a great way to support the cause and be a part of the event. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old, and those under 16 must have a parent or guardian present.

All volunteers will receive a T-shirt, one meal and drink ticket for the Post-Ride Celebration, and other goodies as a thank you for their participation.

There are several ways to volunteer, including:

    • Saturday, September 9th from 12:00-4:30pm (Ballpark)

  • Volunteers will set up field games and facilitate kid’s activities such as crafts, bubbles, and face painting. Please note, this position does not require volunteers to supervise any child.

  • Shift:

    • Saturday, September 9th from 12:00-5:00pm

Volunteer Along the Routes

  • A support and gear (SAG) job involves aiding cyclists during the Ride. Cyclists may need assistance with their bikes (i.e. more air in their tires), providing medical assistance (i.e. calling for help), and transporting riders if they are unable to continue. All SAG vehicles sweep the routes for the last cyclist and pick up all route signage. All volunteers will be given the necessary equipment including gas cards, but drivers will need to provide their own vehicles.

  • Shifts:

    • Saturday, September 9th from 7:00-4:00pm

    • Saturday, September 9th from 8:00-4:00pm

    • Saturday, September 9th from 8:30-4:00pm

    • Saturday, September 9th from 10:00-4:00pm

    • Saturday, September 9th from 11:00-3:00pm

  • The Rest Stop volunteers act as a host to their assigned rest stop. Volunteers will hand out food and beverages to cyclists who stop to take a rest and help direct them. Volunteers may be asked to prepare food before the cyclist arrives, such as making PB&Js or cutting fruit. Rest Stop volunteers work in a group and can make the stops their own with special treats, music, and fun décor. All food, beverages, tents, and chairs will be provided. Make sure you ask your friends and/or family which route they are doing so you can see them at the appropriate rest stop!
